Features to know about

Keep the Truck Level Under Heavy Loads: StableLoad Pads Engage Factory Overload Springs

When you’re towing or hauling a big load, rear-end sag and bounce can throw off your control. The TorkLift StableLoad Suspension Upgrade pre-activates your factory lower overload springs using stainless steel wedge pads that fill the gap between the springs. By engaging those overloads from the start, the system distributes weight more evenly and helps your truck stay level so steering and braking feel stable even with a heavy payload.

Cut Down on Sway and Body Roll: Angled, Adjustable Wedges Add Firm Support

Uneven roads and tight turns can make your suspension lean or wobble when it’s under load. The angled structure of each StableLoad pad maximizes contact with the spring surface to reduce side-to-side sway and body roll. Each wedge pack can be adjusted to fit perfectly in the gap between your rear springs, giving you solid, balanced support that keeps the vehicle feeling planted instead of loose or top-heavy.

Switch Between Loaded and Unloaded Rides Fast: Quick-Disconnect Hinge Design

When you’re done towing or want your stock ride back, you can pivot the StableLoads out of engagement in minutes. The hinged quick-disconnect setup uses a standard 3/8" ratchet extension (not included) to swing the wedge packs in or out. That means you get a stable, supported ride when hauling, and you can return to your normal spring ride when driving unloaded—no tools or teardown required.

Built for Long-Term Use in Any Climate: Stainless Steel Construction

Rain, salt, and dirt won’t wear these down. Each StableLoad unit is made from stainless steel for protection against corrosion and harsh conditions. The kit includes four StableLoad units with all necessary hardware, and each one bolts onto the end of your lower overload spring with no drilling required—only small 1/8" dimples to set placement. Once installed, they deliver dependable support trip after trip.

Pair It with Air Bags for Maximum Control: Works Together Without Conflict

If you’re already running air bags, these StableLoads make them even better. By carrying part of the weight through the overload springs, they let you run lower psi in your air bags so they don’t take all the stress off your factory suspension. The result is smoother handling with less porpoising, sway, or body roll—especially when hauling heavy loads—while keeping your factory suspension working as designed.

My review is specific to the Stable Loads for my 2014 Ram 3500 SRW 4x4 Diesel Pickup truck. First, the package arrived a day ahead of the delivery schedule. Inventory of the kit showed it was complete and matched the list of contents included. The overall impression was that this is a very well made and manufactured system. The stainless steel option seems to be well worth the small added cost. The instructions from TorkLift are a little vague in places so here are a couple of pointers. First, I needed more spacer washers than were provided with the kit due to the thickness of the lower spring. I was short a total of 4 washers. It seems like this is a simple detail that others should have made TorkLift aware of. Surprisingly, I found no mention of this on-line or in videos. Another vague area is regarding the orientation of the bracket on the spring pack itself. on my truck, I needed to install the stable load to the inside - between the frame and the spring. I tried to install the rear stable load to the outside (tire side) but found that even with stock size tires, the clearance was too close for my comfort (less that 1 inch between the bracket and the tire sidewall. On my truck, there is a wiring harness along the bottom of the frame at the rear drivers side that had to be adjusted closer to the frame to provide clearance for the bracket. Otherwise, all 3 of the other mounting locations had adequate room for the inside mounting location. Also, for my truck, using two of the three wedges provided the right thickness for proper engagement. Another note is that for my Ram, I did not have to drill out the springs because the rubber pad is installed into a hole on the overload spring. The hole is slightly larger that the diameter of the mounting bolt. This did not seem to affect the installation but again, it seems a bushing of some sort would be a good addition to the kit. Installation time was a bit longer that what I have seen mentioned by others but still, a few hours and it was ready for a test drive.

With the stable loads engaged, the empty ride is a bit stiffer that stock but not objectionable. The real test will be with the 3000lb+ camper installed. That review will have to wait.

E Trailer was great to order from and had the best price I could find on-line. This is the 4th or 5th time I have ordered from E Trailer and have never been disappointed.

Easy installation, progress and easy to understand instructions. The assembly was actually very enjoyable kind of like putting together a puzzle when you were a kid I had intended on using the upper stabilizers, but after the installation of the lowers, they worked so well the uppers would not be needed Strongly recommend this product

Waited for a week for them to be delivered. They came missing 9 of the 12 wedges.

@MikeLThe person I talked to yesterday said that they would send them out to get here faster than the first package came. I hope this is correct as they are needed for an upcoming trip. I also hope they know to pick out the stainless ones. I just can't understand how 9 pieces could be missing.

Good quality part as usual from TorkLift. Part of it arrived not manufactured correctly but an easy quick call to Etrailer and they got me connected with TorkLift for a popper replacement. I have ordered many items from Etrailer and due to the exceptional customer They have earned my business.

Installed on my F250 Tremor. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Installed in 1.5 hours, by myself, in my driveway with basic hand tools and a cordless drill.

by:

Significantly improves handling and ride while towing 5th wheel

by:

Installed them today. They gave my hitch 2.5 inch lift after installing the camper in the bed. Dropped airbag pressure from 30 to 10 pounds. Instructions were pretty straight forward. I would recommend these for anyone hauling a camper or heavy load.

by:

Product was moderately easy to install and fit as prescribed. First time we Loaded our camper it made a substantial difference in the headlight aim and vehicle stability. This is a great upgrade that allows the truck to run level when the camper is loaded.

We’ve been very happy the torq lift product. Easy to engage and disengage and keeps the truck stable. We tow an enclosed trailer and it helps keep the weight distribution level as well. Very glad we used this method over air bags or torsion bars.

by:

I was able to get them installed. They seem secure and stout and I am sure they will do the job they are intended for but for the cost I was disappointed in the attention to detail. I literally had to get out files and a grinder to clean up the burrs in the holes so bolts would fit and grind off what appeared to be welding splatter or plasma slag from off of flat surfaces that are supposed to lay flat against each other when together. For the money they should be polished and not just pulled off of the plasma table and thrown in a box. Also the drill bits they sent although appreciated didn’t even hardly mark my springs. Had to go buy cobalt bits and use my floor Jack to get the dimples drilled. I am grateful for the new dimple design so that I didn’t have to try and drill 3/8 or 1/2 inch holes all the way through the spring. Over all I’m pleased but should be half the cost.

by:

Just what I needed to stop porpoising and help level the truck with the truck camper. Online showed one block would be assembled, which was not. Would’ve helped as I had to take it apart two times. As normal all torklift products have been top quality.

by:

These worked great to minimize the squatting that my F250 was experiencing with my Lance truck camper loaded in the back. No more bucking either and it rides way better than it did with Timbrens. I recommend getting yourself a better drill bit than the one that comes with the kit, if you don't already have the hole in your leaf spring.

This review is based solely on the quality of the parts MANUFACTURED by Torklift.
The problem: EVERY hole cut in the wedge plates had small "burrs" that prervented the bolts from passing through the holes. I had to file the burrs off every hole in order to assemble the StableLoad units. (It appears that the laser-cutter they are using is leaving the burrs and no one took the time to check the quality of the final product before sending the product out for instillation). It was a bit frustrating and time consuming for me to fix. I reached out to TorkLift , described the problem, sent them pictures of the problem and am still waiting for a response.

ETrailer did a GREAT JOB getting them to me in a timely manner. Your website made it easy to order and delivery was prompt. Thank you for that!
Hopefully, TorkLift will get back to me and I can change the rating I gave this product.

Hi Steve; the TorkLift StableLoad Suspension Upgrade # TL89CR will fit your 2021 Ford F-350. These pre-load your overload springs which will help keep you level and reduce sway/body roll. You don't have to drill a hole but you will have to use a drill to create a small dimple in the springs for installation.

  • Does TorkLift StableLoad Require Drilling to Install on 2017 Ford F-350
Hello Kevin, So the answer to this is yes and no, technically. While you do not have to drill any holes through the springs of your 2017 Ford F-350 to install the TorkLift StableLoad # TL89CR, you do have to drill small 1/8" dimples in the springs. If that's a disqualifier for you and you want something that requires no type of drilling whatsoever, go with the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit # SSA22, which is a bolt-on install.

  • Which Suspension Upgrade is the Best Option for a 2025 Ford F-350?
Hey Bob, congrats on a setting up a new camper! Out of all of those options you'll also need to consider daily driving comfort unless that camper is a permanent addition to your truck bed. Listed below are a brief breakdown of each and a recommendation. The TorkLift StableLoad item # TL89CR that fits your F-350 is going to pre-load your overload springs which will help keep you level and reduce sway/body roll. The overload leaf is a separate, often shorter or differently shaped, spring...

  • Is TorkLift TL89CR the Same as TorkLift Part A7312S for a 2017 Ford F-350 Dually?
Hi Justin, that's a great question. The part numbers can definitely be confusing. The TorkLift StableLoad Suspension Upgrade, Part # TL89CR, is the same kit as TorkLift's Part A7312S (I wasn't able to find a A7312A) for a 2017 Ford F-350 dually. We use our own part number on our website, while TorkLift uses theirs, but you're looking at the same product. These StableLoads are a great upgrade if you're hauling heavy loads because they engage the factory overload springs sooner, which helps...

  • Can I Use Both the TorkLift StableLoad and the SuperSprings Super Sway Stops for Hauling Camper?
Hello Jeff, Sounds like you’ve got a big camper (about 4,000 lbs) on your 2024 F-350 dually, and when it’s loaded, the truck feels bouncy and sways a bit. That’s pretty common with heavy campers, especially if the suspension is still stock. You're looking at two options to help with that: the SuperSprings SuperSway Stops # SS65GR (which work with the upper spring), and the TorkLift # TL89CR StableLoads (which work with the lower spring). Here’s the easy breakdown: - The SuperSway Stops...

  • Are Timbrens and Torklift Stable Loads Compatible on a 2020 Ford F-350?
Yes, they will! The TorkLift StableLoad item # TL89CR that fits your F-350 is compatible with Timbren systems. The Timbren's mount over your axle just inside the leaf springs. For your 2020 Ford F-350 dually, I recommend the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System - Rear Axle item # TFR350SDJ. These have a 8,600 lbs capacity and come with custom fit brackets that bolt directly to your truck. I have linked an installation video below so you can see how to get them set up. If you have any...

Thanks for reaching out, Bill! I definitely see your concerns about the TorkLift StableLoad Suspension Upgrade w Quick-Disconnect # TL89CR for your 2022 Ford F-350, but I hopefully I'll be able to put your mind at ease even though we don't currently have an installation video.
